Created for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Volunteer Program website was the main digital platform for people interested in becoming part of one of the world’s largest sporting events.
The platform brought together everything potential volunteers needed to understand the program, explore different areas of participation, learn about the selection process, and take the first step toward joining the Games.
The Challenge
To transform a large amount of information into a clear, engaging, and accessible digital experience for a diverse audience. The challenge was to guide users through every stage of the volunteer journey while translating the energy, diversity, and spirit of Rio 2016 into a cohesive visual experience.
The Experience
From discovering the program and exploring volunteer roles to understanding eligibility requirements, accessibility initiatives, the selection process, and registration, the website brought the entire volunteer journey together in one digital experience. A clear information hierarchy and an engaging visual system helped users navigate a large amount of content while maintaining the energy and spirit of Rio 2016.
